Light Boxes
After graduate school I was invited by a colleague to collaborate on an exhibition introducing light in our work. I began with creating lanterns with silkscreen and water colored images. The silkscreen or watercolor did not create the desired value structure that I wanted. In creating those earlier pieces it became apparent that layering the paper would block the light and create the desired affect. I then changed to light boxes to protect the work and control the placement and quantity of light behind the images.
